WELCOME TO MOVE AND GROOVE,
YOUR SPORTS & FAMILY EVENT!
On 13 June 2026, the Hugo-Junkers-Park in Rheydt will become the city’s largest sports arena. Discover a wide range of sports, meet local clubs and try out new activities. Move and Groove celebrates sport, movement and community. It is an event for the whole family, for sports enthusiasts and for everyone who wants to discover something new.
REGISTER FOR THE RUN
After the successful events in recent years, we are excited to host the third edition of the Move and Groove runs. Everyone is invited to lace up their running shoes and join the start. Whether you prefer a relaxed pace or want to beat a new course record, you will run together with others across the former city border and connect the districts of Mönchengladbach and Rheydt on the 5 km or 10 km route. The running events begin with the 400 m Kids Active Charity Run and the 1.5 km Sparkasse Youth Run for our youngest participants.
Whether you are part of a sports club or practise your sport on your own, everyone is welcome to take part. Popular sports as well as lesser-known activities can be presented at Move and Groove. Use this opportunity to introduce your sport, meet new people and attract new members. Show what makes your sport special, present your team and invite visitors to join in and try it out.

Together with Lebenshilfe Mönchengladbach, MGMG is working to make Move and Groove more inclusive and accessible, step by step. This isn’t just about individual measures on site, but about the goal of making events accessible to as many people as possible. Since spring 2026, MGMG has worked with Lebenshilfe to launch the Inclusion Seal for Mönchengladbach. For us, this means the following at Move and Groove:
- Easily accessible by public transport (bus routes 016 and 097, Gartenstraße stop)
- Parking spaces for people with walking difficulties (the car park is located on Gartenstraße at the rear of the Pahlkebad, near number 79. To open the barrier on the day of the event, please contact Ms Bourgeois on 0174 2358388)
- Clear signage / preferably with images and pictograms
- Accessible toilets & short distances to key facilities
- Adequate and shaded seating areas in various locations
- A low-stimulus quiet room
- Implementation of the accessibility guidelines for the catering industry

YOUR CITY.
The “Luisa is here!” campaign offers help and support to people who feel harassed or unsafe and need assistance. By asking “Is Luisa here?”, you can speak to a member of staff and let them know that you need help. You will then be accompanied to a quiet and safe place. What happens next is up to you. For example, you can contact a friend, arrange a taxi or, if needed, call the police. We support this campaign and train our staff accordingly.
