WELCOME TO MOVE AND GROOVE,
YOUR SPORTS & FAMILY EVENT!

On 13 June 2026, the Hugo Junkers Park in Rheydt was transformed into the city’s largest sports arena. Visitors delved into the variety of sports on offer, got to know clubs, and tried out new sports. That weekend, we celebrated sport by breaking some records. It was an event for the whole family, sports enthusiasts, and all those who were curious.

REGISTER FOR THE RUN

After the successful editions in recent years, we are excited to welcome you to the third edition of the Move and Groove Runs. All residents of Mönchengladbach are invited to lace up their running shoes and take to the starting line. Whether you prefer a relaxed pace or are chasing a new course record, you will run together with others across the former city border, connecting the districts of Mönchengladbach and Rheydt along the 5 km or 10 km route. The event kicks off with the 400 m Kids Active Charity Run and the 1.5 km Sparkasse Youth Run for our youngest participants.

Thank you to all participants of the second edition of the Move and Groove runs. It was a successful day full of sporting enthusiasm and shared movement beyond city borders. Congratulations to all finishers on their achievements – we’re already looking forward to the next edition of Move and Groove!

BE PART OF IT WITH YOUR SPORT!

Whether you are part of a club or a solo player, whether your sport is popular or relatively unknown, you can present yourself and your sport in Rheydt and attract new members to your favourite hobby. At the international sports festival ‚Move and Groove‘, you have the opportunity to gain new members or showcase what your sport is all about. Invite people to join you and your team by presenting yourselves. Encourage them to try things out.

FOCUS ON INCLUSION

We want our events to be an experience for everyone, regardless of individual limitations. That is why this year we are working closely with Lebenshilfe Mönchengladbach to make our events even more inclusive. Together with Lebenshilfe, we have evaluated the venues and checked their accessibility. There will be more visible signs and orientation aids for people with disabilities. We are also paying more attention to inclusive language and presentation in our communications and advertising. With this cooperation, we want to send out a clear signal: Everyone is welcome!

Lebenshilfe Mönchengladbach

YOUR CITY.

LUISA IS HERE!

The ‚Luisa is here!‘ campaign offers help and support to women and men who feel harassed or threatened and want to get out of an unpleasant situation. By asking “Is Luisa here?” you can contact the staff to signal that you need help. They will then accompany you to a quiet and safe place. You can decide how to proceed, whether it be contacting a friend, organizing a taxi, or even calling the police. We as a company would like to support the campaign and train our staff accordingly.
